    Job Details
  • Hospital in gorgeous coastal northern California seeks experienced wound care traveling RN WOCN or Wound care experienced nurse for their position! May have wound care experience, if not the unit will train candidate and certification and specified training is not required!
    Job Requirements
  • Must have AHA BLS
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: RN must be able to accurately stage pressure injuries, lead a PI prevalence study, evaluate skin abnormalities and wounds, recommend appropriate treatments & develop a plan of care
    Schedule Information
  • 8 hour day shift
  • Shifts & Scheduling: Days 7AM-3:30PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 32 -40 hrs / wk
  • Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekends/month
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Is there a call or standby requirement? Prefer availability to fill in when another RN calls off
    Unit Specific Information
  • What are the primary areas of hospital that they cover: All inpatient hospital nursing units, ED, CDU, Inpatient Rehab Unit, Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs provided
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 – 4 x 8Hr day EMR training, then 3-5 clinical days of orientation; 7:00am-3:30pm (4x8's) 32-40 hours a week

  • Unit: Wound Program
  • # Patients/Day Treated: 10-14 patients/day, depends on how busy the hospital is
  • Common diagnoses/Types of wounds: Responsible for seeing patients throughout the hospital. There is also an ostomy clinic in which the wound care nurse will follow up with patients that have been discharged home & may have questions or concerns managing their ostomy. Responsible for pre-op teaching & marking of stoma when ordered by the surgeon. Assess patient's skin, stomas, & wounds. Educate patients & staff on skin health & wound treatment.
