Colorado Permanente Medical Group has opportunities for board certified or board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians who have an interest in a hybrid model consisting of a mix of a min of 3 days of clinic and up to 2 days of virtual medicine that you can do from home. There are various hours in the virtual medicine department but with no overnight shifts. To learn more about options available for a hybrid model please reach out to the recruiter.
We also have .1 increments of FTE we could also consider for internal CPMG physicians.

Job Description for the virtual work outside of clinic:
Virtual Medicine physicians will cover shifts on the Telephone Advice Visit service, Video Visits, and Chat with a doctor. Shift work currently includes regular scheduled phone visits, video visits, on demand phone advice and chat work. Virtual Medicine physicians must have access to HealthConnect and all necessary telehealth platforms. Physicians are allowed to work remotely provided the remote internet connection is secure, and bandwidth is sufficient to manage the appointment types above. When home connection is not reliably available, physician will work from TMC or other KP facility. Virtual Medicine physicians will manage member concerns and offer home advice and treatment or refer to the appropriate higher level of care within KPCO's preferred network or help navigate care options for members who are in and out of area. Virtual Medicine physicians will develop expertise in Colorado's care venues and their respective capabilities, as well as standards for caring for our members remotely.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide members high quality virtual care options and develop expertise in all of Colorado's telehealth venues.
- Manage a wide array of patient concerns, including episodic care as well as assisting in chronic care management and preventive care, providing care via telehealth or referrals for face-to-face care as appropriate.
- Develop expertise in venue management for members throughout the region, working closely with Nurse Advice, Message Management and TMC to improve care navigation for our members.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with patients through chat, email, video and phone.
- Manage multiple simultaneous chat encounters, several at a time during busy periods.
- Develop expertise in efficient use of the Verizon Agent Desktop, the WDE platform, Dexcare, Epic, and other platforms as it becomes necessary
- Contribute to efforts at system improvement, including telehealth QA and development and refinement of training materials, as well as mentoring new providers.
- Develop good ‘webside manner'. Maintain and be responsive to member ratings.
- Maintain flexibility in staffing telehealth venues and moving to cover venues with greatest need as directed by the Medical Director of Telehealth.
- Participate in department meetings as necessary.
- Plan vacation and other PTO in coordination with other virtualists to help maintain adequate coverage and adjust for expected seasonal variability.
- Cover a proportional segment of adverse hours including weekend, evening and overnight shifts.
- Maintain appropriate work from home environment including professional background and quiet space from which to work without distractions.
Hours:
Hours will vary and include evening, overnight, holiday, and weekend work as needed.
Seasonal variability may require relatively greater frequency of work during high demand times of the year, typically November through April.
Quality:
All phone appointments and video interactions are subject to recording for quality purposes. Member concerns will be addressed initially through the director and referred through internal peer review (QA) process if necessary.
Required Minimum Work Experience & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in medical practice as a Permanente physician
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to deliver in executing on business and care delivery objectives
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills
- Technical abilities and thorough understanding of technology needed to provide effective virtual care.
Preferred Work Experience & Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in CPMG if you are an internal CPMG physician.
- Experience and demonstrated facility with current care channels

- Pay range: Family Medicine $288,469- $245,199. Internal Medicine $298,065 - $253,355. *Salary will be based on years of experience and FTE.
