Job Description

The College of Southern Nevada, West Charleston campus is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant III to work in the Department of Dental Sciences, Diagnostic Evaluation and Rehabilitation Services.

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Being the point of contact for students and faculty for departmental programs.

  • Preparing faculty contracts.

  • Coordinating and assisting with processing newly hired faculty and program personnel. Making purchases & preparing purchase requisitions.

  • Maintaining budget documents.

  • Answering phones, attending meetings and trainings at various campuses.

  • Attending program & advisory committee meetings.

  • Maintaining meeting minutes.

  • Interacting with students, faculty and administration.

  • Maintaining accurate records.

  • Supervising & training other administrative assistants in the department.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

  • Customer-service oriented.

  • Attention to detail, excellent planning, organization and time management skills.

  • Knowledgeable of Workday and MyCSN.

  • Computer proficiency and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms, Word, Excel, Power Point. 

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and office etiquette.

Weekly Schedule:


Monday - Friday: 8 am - 5 pm, subject to flexibility based on department needs.
 

Starting Salary

Grade 27, Step 1 - $41,634.72

Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
