- Shift/Hours: 7:30am-5pm
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiography (non-invasive cardiovascular) program. (Preferred)
- Ultrasound tech cross trained into echo with 3-5 years experience considered.
- Knowledge of PACS is preferred.
- Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains a high quality of patient care; positions and handles patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patience and safety.
- Greets and introduces self to patient and describes nature and time requirements of requested exams.
- Keeps room and work area neat and orderly.
- Identifies problems and communicates to the imaging director; offers solutions when appropriate.
- Checks the order for history/special instructions. Furnishes cardiologist or treating physician with the patient's history on worksheet or assessment sheet. Completes all paperwork where applicable.
- Assumes responsibility for proper and efficient operation of all the echo equipment used; reports malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
- Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs and carts onto tables/gurneys to complete exams.
- Continuing education credits, accreditations and certifications are current at all times.
- Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
