Nestled in Edmonton's spectacular river valley, the Valley Zoo provides a natural setting to get up close with animals, connect with nature and learn how to conserve the planet for future generations.  Do you enjoy working outdoors in a professional, fast-paced team environment?  The Edmonton Valley Zoo is seeking part time staff (Labourer II) to provide maintenance and daily facility operations by performing semi-skilled manual labour activities. Work responsibilities will also include building animal enrichments, maintaining exhibit infrastructure, and supporting the Animal Care team.

What will you do?

• Maintenance of the overall site and animal exhibit including landscape construction, grounds & turf maintenance, and fencing repairs
• Operation of snow removal and grounds maintenance equipment such as truck mounted plows, utility vehicles such as toolcats or workmans, front-mount sweepers, and walk behind equipment such a snow blowers, brooms, tillers, and lawn mowers
• Mechanical ride maintenance duties on the refurbished 1959 Conservation Carousel and three car mini train 
• Perform cleaning tasks as required such as washroom cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors, and animal and facility waste removal
• Support the Animal Care team with delivery and removal of animal supplies and materials to designated animal enclosures
• Animal waste management
• Special Event and facility rental set up tasks
• Perform other related duties as required
