If so, then consider joining our team as a Senior Communications Advisor! We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic communications professional to lead the development and implementation of communication strategies for our Employee and Legal Services (ELS) division.

The Senior Communications Advisor will lead the day-to-day operation of the Employee and Legal Services communications unit, including the development and implementation of communication strategies and materials. This role will also involve collaborating with colleagues across the organization to support corporate internal communications functions and corporate culture initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of communications principles and best practices, as well as experience in leading and mentoring a team.

What will you do?

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver high-quality communications products and services for the ELS division
  • Provide guidance to staff and clients on communications strategies, messaging, and tactics
  • Review and edit all communications materials to ensure they align with corporate cultural approaches, plain language principles, and divisional priorities
  • Identify and resolve conflicts and challenges within the team and with clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with divisional staff to support organizational awareness, planning, and resource allocation
  • Lead and supervise the ELS communications unit, including setting performance expectations, providing coaching and mentoring, and managing staff schedules
  • Manage and report on attendance, overtime, and performance
  • Ensure team compliance with City and departmental training requirements, cultural programs, and change initiatives
