Description
A key member of the Business Integration section, this role is vital to providing governance and oversight to the contracting and procurement activities within the branch - to ensure that procurement methods used comply with corporate policies, and the evidence of compliance is gathered and maintained as required.
This position provides support to the branch's operational contract managers for planning and execution of the contracts and significant procurements. In carrying out this role, it is expected that this position will systematically and efficiently collaborate on all active and planned procurements (new or renewals) with the branch's operational contract managers, ensuring that adequate lead time is provided to properly develop and execute the procurement plan.
This role is the subject matter expert on contracting, procurement processes, delegations of authority and expenditure offices delegations within the branch, and serves as the point of contact for the branch's business sections on contractual matters, liaising with City departments to resolve issues for branch procurements.
What will you do?
- Work closely with other City Departments and contract managers to ensure that all procurement and contracting processes comply with policies, minimize risk, and maximize opportunities
- Act as the Branch subject matter expert on all things related to contract management and procurement governance
- Provide support to the Branch in evaluating contract compliance and establishing plans to rectify any issues
- Lead and conduct quality assurance, quality control, and pre-audit program activities
- Identify trends, risks, and issues found during contract monitoring
- Provide strategic and tactical advice to business units on the correct selection and execution steps for procurements
- Operate as the Subject Matter Expert on Ariba procurement-based transactions and processes for the branch
