Description
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is looking for a Projects and Strategic Facility Planning Manager. Reporting to the Director of the FFMB, you will serve as a core member of the Branch's leadership team with a focus on supporting the Branch's strategies and priorities and creating the conditions for success. As a manager supervising a team of experienced project technologists, furniture and moves coordination, and strategic coordinator, you are responsible for the Branch's delivery of facility operational and planning to all client areas in the EPS. In this position, you have the following responsibilities:
A. Facilities and Project Management
- Setting goals and objectives for the Project and Strategic Facility Planning Section
- Strategic planning for Facilities and Fleet Management Branch by providing project opportunities and challenges to the organization including long term space availability and usage.
- Ensuring moves and furniture requests are reviewed, assigned to contractor, and completed with both the immediate operational requirements and long-term space planning consideration of EPS.
- Ensuring Budgets are adhered to, planned, and cash flowed.
B. Supervision/ Leadership
- Providing guidance, training, and supervision to team
- Increasing project management acumen including documentation, processes of team and developing for the team with focus on transparency, reporting, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Prioritization of requests and ensuring execution of the work
- Ensuring team works in an integrated manner with EPS and external stakeholders, leading by example with professionalism and strong communication skills.
C. Occupational Health and Safety and Regulatory Requirements.
- Ensure work is performed meeting Corporate OHS requirements.
- Ensuring design and construction work meets meet code requirements of jurisdictions having regulatory approval. Including Provincial OHS requirements.
