This posting is for one (1) Temporary, Full-Time position that may continue until September 26, 2025

Reporting to the Director of the Facilities and Fleet Management, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking a Fleet Manager who is the resident expert responsible for providing leadership to control and coordinate the Fleet Section's highly complex technical and administrative operation, including the accountability of EPS Fleet assets, financial capital and operating budget, staff resources and the development of fleet policy.  Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Establish goals and priorities, set standards, measure results and ensure performance of the fleet align with EPS strategic priorities.
  • Maintain, and monitor the strategic plan for fleet replacement and administration to meet changing policing and operational needs.
  • Provide technical expertise, advice and recommendations on new police vehicle equipment and products, solutions to changing requirements relating to officer safety and technology changes.
  • Monitor and control a budget of approximately $15 million allocating resources, capital procurement and managing operational priorities/requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repairs and replacement of EPS vehicle fleet, consisting of over 850 assorted vehicle types.  This includes working with the City of Edmonton Fleet and Facility Services to ensure a preventative maintenance schedule, in-house repairs, and life cycle replacement of vehicles are realized, including the purchase and disposal of EPS vehicles.
  • Coordinate with the City of Edmonton Fleet Services and City of Edmonton Surplus Sales on vehicle disposal, ensuring policy and procedures are adhered to while realizing the best residual value.
  • Oversee risk management and evaluate fleet accidents and repair programs, insurance, registration and licensing. Monitor police vehicle collision reports and insurance claims with COE Risk Management.
  • Provide expert guidance in the development, design and installation of modifications on police vehicles.
  • Allocate and direct resources for the completion of special projects such as undercover operations.
  • Other related duties as required.
