Description

The EWMC - Residential Transfer Station - Equipment Operator II is responsible for operating heavy machinery to process materials for disposal and transport, load and unload materials, and use multiple attachments for outdoor operations, including the construction of building material bunkers, snow removal and other related activities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of waste materials within the Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC).

What will you do?

• Operate front end loaders to transport materials within the transfer station site
• Responsible for the safe productive operation of multiple pieces of equipment
• Assist with the organization and management of waste materials to maximize space efficiency
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth flow of operations and timely completion of tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of operational areas, including sweeping, removing debris and snow removal
• Follow established procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the overall operation of EWMC - Outside Operations
• Identify, troubleshoot and report any and all equipment mechanical issues
