Description
As an Operations Technician, you will be supporting the Dedicated Accessible Transit Services (DATS) section of the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) branch by providing assistance and support within garages and to DATS Operators.
What will you do?
- Transport vehicles within and between garages, including inspection of vehicles and shop maintenance duties
- Drive vehicles in, out, and around the garage, positioning/parking equipment and vehicles in appropriate locations at the end of each day
- Fuel, drive through wash bay and check tire pressure of vehicles
- Conduct trip inspections and perform checks on fluid levels, tires, lights, wipers, glass, and fuel
- Provide on-road support/troubleshooting for vehicle issues and breakdowns such as vehicle replacements
- Work with Dispatch and Scheduling to coordinate vehicles for daily interior bus cleaning
- Replace tablets and ensure functioning tablets are assigned to vehicles
- Coordinate and lead all vehicle breakdowns and replacements, working closely with internal stakeholders
- Assist Inspectors with reports or other information as needed
- Check the fleet management system for notifications/flags related to vehicles and take the necessary steps to involve affected stakeholders to resolve issues
- Coordinate the fare handling process, both pick-up and drop-off, and auditing as required
- Assist in organizing and maintaining garage cleanliness and organization
