Description

The Facilities and Fleet Management Branch of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking a Facility Maintenance Unit Supervisor with exceptional initiative, judgment and customer service skills to oversee a complex and diverse portfolio of facility assets within the EPS totaling 29 EPS facilities and in excess of 1,000,000 square feet.  Responsibilities will include:

• Leading, directing and managing in-house and contract resources by planning and managing the operating facility needs, including prioritizing service needs and requests.
• Overseeing a variety of contracts, including custodial services, snow removal and interior and exterior landscaping.
• Preparing specifications, evaluating criteria for tenders and evaluating bids, administering contracts and ensuring contractors' activities adhere to OH&S guidelines.
• Supervising two clerical positions, including conducting performance appraisals, providing guidance, motivation and encouraging team building and staff development.
• Establishing financial controls; preparing budget documents; identifying resource requirements; initializing and creating purchase orders.
• Assisting in preparing and presenting reports and presentations.
• Performing other related duties as required.
