Description

Are you enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Black history of Edmonton and Western Canada? Do you love to facilitate memory-making experiences? Are you eager to respond to the range of people's curiosity, perspectives and questions? If so, join our team to explore the remarkable opportunities as a Black History Interpreter.

Like a language interpreter, historical interpreters help translate unique and rich histories and cultures, breathing life into times-gone-by, and creating meaningful experiences for others. You'll step into the shoes of history, dressed in period attire at Fort Edmonton Park, in one of our historical areas, showcasing your strengths, enlightening others, and championing truths about an important part of our history.  Through storytelling, demonstrations, and interactive activities, you'll share your knowledge, spark curiosity and inspire a deeper understanding of our shared past.

Our living history museum strives to create an immersive and engaging environment. To visualize what it's like to be on our team, watch this video: https://youtu.be/hBMlRID0IoA.
