Description

The Technology Services Branch requires one (1) self-motivated individual to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and administration of the Edmonton Police Service's physical and virtual infrastructure. Roles and responsibilities include:

• Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure infrastructure administration and troubleshooting.
• Administering a complex virtual infrastructure comprised of  VMware ESXi hosts, Fibre Channel storage arrays, and dHCI storage technologies.
• Providing in-depth technical expertise for the operation and maintenance of server, storage, and security solutions in order to ensure the integrity and availability of corporate data.
• Management and administration of S3 Object storage for backups.
• Carrying out daily maintenance and administration of Active Directory, PKI, Remote access, VPN and Identity and access management services.
• Monitoring and maintaining Veeam backup solutions.
• Monitoring and analysing performance of Windows and ESXi based operating systems as well as creatively troubleshooting complex infrastructure performance issues as they arise.
• Receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving complex and varied infrastructure support requests through the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools and by providing personal hands-on desktop level help.
• Monitoring logs and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity and implementing resolutions.
• Managing, maintaining and optimizing data centre facilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Managing virus, intrusion, and infrastructure related policy violations and performing security vulnerability evaluation and remediation.
• Update existing documentation as necessary and create new documents as required.
• Performing other related duties as required.
