GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Director of Aviation, performs professional work to ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), State of Louisiana, East Baton Rouge City-Parish laws, rules and regulations regarding airport management. Work involves the overall coordination of departmental operations in the area of federal and state compliance. The incumbent is subject to twenty-four hour call for situations needing immediate attention. Work involves the use of independent judgment within established guidelines and is reviewed through written reports and conferences. May supervise clerical support staff. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, airway science, or a related field.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field, supplemented by two years experience in airport operations or a closely related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) None.

OTHER JOB ASPECTS
For security reasons, as per TSA provision 1542; all applicant/employees of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport District who have access to restricted areas will be required to have a ten (10) year criminal background check to the extent allowable by the law. Employees found to have an excessive criminal record or other misrepresentations of employment will not be eligible for employment.
