MANAGER INTERNATIONAL BANKING - TRADE AND SUPPLY CHAIN FINANCE

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Reports to the head of Capital Markets and manages a team of Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance sales colleagues. This colleague is responsible for managing and directing the Trade and Supply Chain Finance sales activities of the bank to assure profitability consistent with the objectives and strategies set forth by the division and the Bank. Specifically this colleague will be responsible for directing new business marketing efforts, coordinating sales leads and cross-sale opportunities, ensuring that the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Sales Specialists work closely and effectively with other colleagues within and outside of the International department/ Capital Markets (e.g., Relationship Managers, International Operations, 1LOD Credit, 1LOD Business Controls, Capital Markets Business Management, etc.) who are critical to the effective closing of new business opportunities, risk management, governance and controls. This individual will also coordinate and integrate sales activities across the division and the bank to drive a strong Trade and Supply Chain Finance sales culture. This individual will also be responsible to ensure all products and the sale of which are conducted consistently with the Bank's policies and procedures and within risk limits.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Active management of sales colleagues on the Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance teams. Align and lead sales team coverage including roles and responsibilities, annual team and individual goal setting and client strategies with the specific needs of each of the lines of business that the department supports. Provides direct sales coaching on assessing needs.
  • Develop/implement/execute sales strategies for both the trade finance and supply chain finance businesses.
  • Responsible and accountable for end-to-end product ownership.
  • Ensure sales colleagues act appropriately, following all bank policies and procedures, including complying with risk/trading limits, etc. Responsible for managing and escalating conduct violations to senior management when necessary.
  • Leads the creation of new ideas for products and approaches to client sales efforts. Actively participates in internal and external marketing and other activities to promote the bank's trade and supply chain finance products and services to attract new clients.
  • Works closely with CM Business Management (including product, business systems, and business management) and CM 1LOD Business Controls, T&I, Legal, Compliance and other groups, as appropriate, to develop or enhance new trade and supply chain finance capabilities, identify and implement technologies.
  • Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with other Capital Markets business units as well as internal support partners, such as B&IS (middle-and back-office operations; CLO), T&I, 1LOD risk (BCO risk team), Finance, HR, RBC GRM, etc.
  • Stays abreast and communicates to business leaders throughout the bank on competitive trends, products and services and their impact on trade and supply chain.
  • Ensures the proper documentation of sales efforts into Salesforce. Coordinates and reports on sales efforts - e.g. monthly and ad hoc reports of trade and supply chain finance sales, including revenue, pricing effectiveness, volumes, etc.
  • Train and develop IBTF colleagues identified for succession and prepare them for leadership roles in the future.
  • Reinforce a proactive risk culture that rewards creating, improving, and documenting policies and procedures, identifying, and remediating potential gaps or known issues, etc.
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
  • Completes all special projects as requested by senior management.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance sales and sales management is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple/cross functional teams is required.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated sales and management ability required.
  • Excellent understanding of all bank products and services applicable to target client segment preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial credit policies and procedures and risk management techniques required.
  • Excellent skills of motivating staff and assisting in the creation and achievement of individual and team goals required
  • Strong strategic skills required that will assist the staff in creating strategies for each client.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external clients and Bank colleagues to achieve results

COMPENSATION
Starting base salary: $175,745 - $326,377 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
