BUSINESS SALES AND PORTFOLIO RELATIONSHIP ASSOCIATE COMMUNITY BANKING San Francisco Main - Downtown Los Angeles, CA - Park Ave, New York, NY WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Responsible for collaborating with clients and Business Community Managers in managing sales administration and portfolio management. Duties include loans submissions, tracking and facilitating credit transactions to close, overall client onboarding to ensure positive client experience. Provide product solutions to client needs and quality service Responsible for developing and ensuring all Bank and Regulatory requirements.Responsible for reporting and communicating to Leadership concerning financial reporting requirements, loan/line maturities and renewals, past due payments/loans/lines, any documentation requirements (Memos to Credit, Notice of Defaults, and Temporary Waivers, etc…), working with internal banking partners/stakeholders.Responsibilities will also include reporting and working with the head of community banking, and business community leadership in overall sales operations. Project management, support business community banking in coordination of community events through SPCP small business program, which includes financial literacy related volunteering activities, and hours for all SPCP small business designated geographic areas. Process improvement of client experience and operating efficiencies. Collaborate with Community Banking leadership team on all future strategic initiatives around small business. Develop relationships with all tangential lines of business to promote Business Community Banking initiatives. Actively engages and works with clients in the collection of all financial items to ensure clients stay within City National Bank's ("CNB's") required loan covenants as stated in client loan documents. Additionally, work with clients as a valued consultant, advising them on banking services (based on the review of the financial statements received), technology, and improvements in an effort to increase the CNB client experience while increasing portfolio revenue. Must be in good standing under "The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008" (Safe Act) and must be registered/licensed with the "Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry"; or must be able to be registered under the Safe Act. Must remain in good standing under the Safe Act. What you will do

  • Assists Business Community Managers with loan originations, onboarding, process maintenance, and manage client and loan portfolio based on regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with CNB departments and branches as assigned. Resolves client needs and internal issues.
  • Responsible for new and existing client relationships with supporting Bank products and services. Discusses financing opportunities and general business conditions; may assist in forecasting clients' credit needs and develops solutions to serve their financial needs. Brings in product specialists, as necessary, to help problem solve or structure transactions.
  • Requires extensive operational expertise in managing the workflow to meet client expectation. Responsible for mitigating any operational risk factors.
  • May serve as a business community banking subject matter expert acting as a technical consultant to clients and relationship managers in various business segments and geographic locations.
  • Ensures all Bank policies, procedures, and regulations have complete oversight
  • Comply to Bank Operational and Credit policies, Credit procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
  • Manage Sales administration, originations and portfolio reporting to Community Banking Leadership and Line Colleagues.
  • Provide quality assurance to CNB colleagues, and new and existing clients.
  • Administrative and sales management support to business community banking leadership: sales tracking, reporting, project management
  • Program, project and community related events management and coordination.
  • Operationalize Business Community Banking initiatives with corresponding lines of business
  • Assess Business Community Banking processes and provide strategies for efficiency and overall operational improvements
  • Partner with SPCP Small Business' Business Community Managers (BCM) in managing a growing small business portfolio which includes deposit, credit, portfolio management and oversight to ensure it meets CNB's standards.
  • Analyze and compile data for reporting

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of Financial Services and Commercial Lending experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting projects
  • 5+ years of customer service experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management, meticulous and good organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Bank operations, policies and procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to develop and implement project plans for process improvements
  • Advanced Microsoft experience (Word, Excel & Outlook),
Compensation Starting base salary: $87,027.00 - $138,965.00 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
