Powering Chicago (PC), an extension of the Labor Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC) of Chicago, is in the process of filling the position of Operations Manager.

LMCC Chicago is a joint venture of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) of the City of Chicago and the Internation Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #134.  These two organizations respectively represent nearly 600 signatory electrical contractors and 12,000 individual IBEW members within Chicago and Cook County.  PC / LMCC Chicago is a not-for-profit organization working diligently to advance the unionized electrical construction industry in Chicago and Cook County.

Position Summary:

The Labor Management Cooperation Committee of Chicago (LMCC) and its partner program, Powering
Chicago (PC)
, are in the process of fulfilling the vacant position of Operations Manager.  Candidates for this position must be able to work in a very fast-paced, demanding environment as part of the PC team while also working independently, making decisions as needed and required.  The Operations Manager's primary focus
is representing and advancing the unionized electrical construction industry in Chicago and Cook County, and secondarily on a regional and national basis.  This position involves public relations with numerous industry related events, including night and weekend events, and travel to related regional and national events.

The Operations Manager will report to and work under the direction of the Powering Chicago Executive Director (E.D.) overseeing the operations of the trust fund and assist the E.D. with strategic initiatives determined by the LMCC Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the E.D. on business development and marketing initiatives that support the strategic
    plan and policy directed by the Board of Trustees
  • Work with the E.D. to create programs that best serve the goals of the strategic marketing plan and promote PC members
  • Assist the E.D. in public relations opportunities
  • Assist the E.D. in identifying and developing strategic alliances
  • Engage member contractors and oversee their promotion and involvement in strategic business
    development initiatives
  • Assist the E.D. in identifying new ventures to grow union electrical construction market share in
    Chicago and Cook County
  • Oversee and administer charitable projects, contributions and philanthropic initiatives
  • Financial management, budgeting, audit and records maintenance, and assurance of compliance
    with 501 organization regulations
  • Work with the E.D. to establish efficient policies and procedures to support Trust Fund assets
    and operations
  • Contract review, legal and liability protection for the Trust Fund in conjunction with the Trust Fund's legal team
  • Asset management and associated compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Assist in recruiting, training and supervising Powering Chicago staff

Requirements:
