- Job Details
- A hospital in Eastern Texas is in need of a Med-Surg RN for a travel assignment.
- The right candidate will hold an active BLS, NIHSS and a TX license.
- Job Requirements
- 1 year experience required, ok with first time traveler.
- Schedule Information
- 12 hours 6:45 shifts.
- Do allow self-scheduling and then manager balances.
- Schedule is done 6 weeks at a time.
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Holiday rotation with core staff.
- Unit Specific Information
- Unit: Med/Surg Tower 3 (3rd Floor)
- # Beds: 37
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Primary surgical, ortho, and trauma unit. Elective surgeries, total joints, bariatric surgery-sleeves, bypasses, Roux-en-Y, general, trauma, lots of CCU, take COVID-non symptomatic, hospice/palliative.
- Charge Nurse- has ACLS, may take an assignment if needed due to staffing - would not take more than 2 patients.
- RN may float to work as helping hands, tech work- basic skillset of an RN.
- No monitored beds on Med Surg floors. RNs not required to read strips.
- Unit/Department specific orientation includes first day classwork including skills, policies and procedures, Meditech training, then 2-3 shift on the floor. If night position will get oriented on 1 day shift and 1 night shift.
- Additional Details
- MedSol will prescreen, manager for review or conduct a 2nd interview.
- Any Monday for start dates!
- Navy - undershirts must be navy. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
