    Job Requirements

  • Are RN's required to titrate drips?: Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, (low dose Dopamine), No Levo
  • Are RN's required to read their own strips? RN to read and interpret
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 7a-7p, 7p-7a - If rotating shift, 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly. Manager to make a schedule, will consider blocked schedule based on unit needs
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other
  • Floating Requirements: All areas as helping hands, PCU for a full patient load of PCU, MS for a full patient assignment, some ER Holds/boarding
    Unit Specific Information
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? yes, both shifts, occasionally take a light load 2-3 patients
  • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides troubleshooting? Bipap, trachs, airvo, etc.
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Teleportable monitors and monitors in the rooms, and tech at the nurse's station
    Additional Details
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, occasional 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow on the unit 1:3
  • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: adults and geriatrics, Cardiac cathodes, EP studies, pacers, and ETOH, Covid Bipap, occasional general surgical with heart history, medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia covid, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, sepsis
  • Scrubs Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided? any color scrubs
  • How many shifts of unit/department-specific orientation? 2- 12 hour shifts, Friday and Saturday of the first week of orientation and on your own by that Sunday
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
