Job Details
• THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
• Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
• Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
• Flexibility is a must.
• Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
• There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
• COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.

Job Requirements
• A full 3 years of current ICU experience.
• Holding an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
• Pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.

Schedule Information
• Every other weekend is required.
• Flexibility with scheduling, may have to work 3 weekends a month.
• Self-scheduling possible, but manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.

Unit Specific Information
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1.
• Charge Nurse: Yes, do not take patients.
• Tele/Monitor Techs on unit: No; RN required to interpret own strip with GE monitors.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy.
• Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days.
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients include Level 1 trauma cases, COVID, sepsis, ARDS, etc.
• RNs required to titrate drips: Yes.
• Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, etc.

Additional Details
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position.
• Traveler must validate skills for trauma, neuro and specialty devices as needed.
• Sister units are a medical/cardiac 36 bed ICU & 12 bed overflow ICU.
• Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
• Okay with first-time traveler, however, must have 3 years experience with 2 of those years in the ICU.
• Level 1 trauma experience or neuro experience not required but preferred.
• Prefer prior experience working at a similar size unit ICU.
