- THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
- The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
- Travelers could also float to the sister facility if needed.
- Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
- There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.

- Unit Specific Information
- Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients include Level 1 trauma, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15, Ex-lap, crani, specialty neuro-surgery cases, CVA, post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS.
- Charge Nurse duties include not taking patients.
- No nurse aids on the unit, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7.
- RT in ICU 24/7.
- Self scheduling.
- Unit/Department specific orientation 1-2 days.
- May have 1 holiday off in an assignment.
- Additional Details
- Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
- UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2.
- Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
- Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
- Float to tele with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed.
