The Department of Cardiology, Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a clinical faculty member to join the Division of Cardiac Intensive Care Medicine. The position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of state-of-the-art delivery and discovery in cardiac intensive care medicine.

The Smidt Heart Institute is widely recognized as a leading institution in the field of cardiovascular care and a pioneer in the development of new treatments and diagnostic tools. Since 2018, Cedars-Sinai Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery has consistently ranked among the top three nationally in U.S. News and World Report Top Hospitals. The Department of Cardiology is one of the largest departments within the Cedars Sinai Health System and has renowned programs in advanced heart disease, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, women's health, hypertension, cardiovascular imaging, and regenerative medicine.

The 12-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit receives over 1400 admissions annually and has outstanding mortality metrics for its diverse mix of critically ill patients, including those with cardiogenic shock, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrest, and arrhythmias. The CICU is supported by a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, including medical students, interns, residents, nurse practitioners, and cardiology fellows, overseen by 7 rotating faculty members. With a well-resourced environment and expert staff, the CICU provides specialized care for critically ill cardiac patients, including those requiring temporary mechanical circulatory support, therapeutic hypothermia, CRRT, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring. It serves as a regional, national, and international referral center for advanced heart disease management, including renowned heart transplant, cardiomyopathy, interventional, and structural intervention programs.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in cardiac critical care medicine, an interest in teaching, and a history of research accomplishments. They will play a crucial role in participating in the clinical, academic, and research activities within the Cardiac Critical Care Clinical Section. Responsibilities include planning and designing clinical services, ensuring continuous quality improvement within the CICU, and collaborating effectively with internal and external colleagues. They will support the academic mission of the Department of Cardiology and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by providing supervision, education, and mentorship to students and postgraduate trainees from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications:

· Completion of a nationally accredited ACGME/AOA Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship with additional training and experience in Critical Care Medicine.

· Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease; Board certified/eligible in Critical Care Medicine or a strong track record in cardiac intensive care.

· Eligibility for an unrestricted California Physician license.

· Demonstrated excellence in teaching, patient care, and research in an inclusive environment.

· Eligibility for appointment to the appropriate academic rank in the CSMC Professorial Series.

Our compensation philosophy

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.

Pay Range: $365,172 - $598,963 Total Cash Compensation.
