Summary
The Employee Relations Coordinator supports the Employee Relations Manager and the Human Resources department. The Employee Relations Coordinator applies organization policies, guidelines, and procedures to resolve a variety of employee and union-related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Functions as a resource and advisor to management on employee and labor relations matters.
- Listens to employee concerns and informs management of issues or concerns.
- Tracks and trends employee concerns and develops action plans to address them.
- Meets with managers and employees, investigating issues and recommending solutions.
- Communicates regularly with other members of the HR Department, which may impact, or be impacted by, various employee issues.
- Works with all levels of management to assure the consistent application of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Advises employees and supervisors about employment policies and procedures, applicable employment laws, performance management and disciplinary actions.
- Supports employee complaint and grievance procedures by serving as the initial contact and liaison for employee complaints; interpreting collective bargaining agreements; conducting investigations, as assigned; writing reports; tracking complaints and outcomes.
- Research, interviews, coordinates, and represents CCCR in EDD Hearings.
- Tracking of employee programs.
- Communicates company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and need for compliance.
- Interviews workers to gather information on their responses to general factors that affect worker morale, motivation, and efficiency.
- Meets with management to discuss possible actions to be taken.
- Interviews workers to determine reactions to specific actions taken.
- Prepares reports on workers' comments and actions taken.
- Conducts exit interviews and prepares turnover analysis reports.

Experience and/or Education
Three (3) years in labor and employee relations or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Age Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, mathematical or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Human Resources systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
