    Job Details
  • Cardiac Stepdown RN
  • 3x12 nights
  • Blocked scheduling is an option
  • 5 North/Step-down is a 20-bed (all private room) unit
  • Strive for a 4:1 ratio but can have a 5:1 ratio, depending on our staffing situation
  • Mixture of pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, and surgery patients
  • Unit is equipped to house 20 stepdown patients
  • Patients do not require invasive monitoring
  • May have a combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients
  • Examples of critical drips: Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
    Job Requirements
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • 1+ year experience required
    Schedule Information
  • 3x12 hours shifts per night
  • Blocked scheduling available
    Unit Specific Information
  • 20-bed Step-down unit
  • All private room
  • Equipped to house 20 stepdown patients
  • Patients ranged from adult med-surg, telemetry, to step-down
  • Critical drips administration like Amiodarone, Esmolol, and others
    Additional Details
  • Government issued photo ID required
  • Photo Identification must be carried during hours of service to client
  • Residency Declaration Form may be required if working on a compact license
  • Type of Facility: Short Term Acute Care
  • Major Teaching Hospital; member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
  • Level II Trauma
  • Total Staffed Beds: 330
  • Scrub Color: Black Scrubs (alternative: Cabell T-Shirt instead of scrub top)
  • Surgery-specified scrubs provided if/when reporting to Surgery
