Job Description

The Vice President of Global Sourcing & Procurement is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing the global sourcing strategy for the company. This role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sourcing strategies that optimize costs, ensuring the supply of quality equipment and materials, and supporting the company's overall strategic objectives.

The VP of Global Sourcing and Procurement will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will possess extensive global procurement experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement in sourcing practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and execute global sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the global procurement team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in procurement practices.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers globally.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements that secure the best value for the organization.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Cost Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives to achieve financial targets.
  • Manage the procurement budget and track expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Risk Management:

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with the global supply chain, including geopolitical, financial, and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the procurement operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
  • Implement best practices and standardized processes across the global procurement function.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance procurement performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and product development, to align sourcing activities with business needs.
  • Communicate procurement strategies, performance metrics, and achievements to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships to support business objectives.

Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global procurement team.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.  An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
  • 10+ years experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven experience in global sourcing and procurement, including managing global supplier relationships
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems
