Base salary: 220k-270k

 

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Vice President of BGS US and will have total management oversight of the BGS US Commercial Sales/Account Management and Customer Service/Experience team for US BGS including core product and new product business lines both on a local and national level. This position requires up to 50% travel to facilities and customers throughout the United States and internationally as needed to work on the development of new business and servicing of existing clients. This position will require a strong entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work independently and thrive on the growth of new business. The Candidate must have a proven track record of leadership, sound technological savvy and strong analytical and business skills. The candidate must also possess a firm international orientation, be able to manage a multinational workforce and provide solutions delivery to a multinational customer base. Superb communication skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all BGS US sales, marketing and customer service issues
  •  P&L responsibilities for the US BGS business line and must coordinate service & operational issues with affiliates, domestic and international
  •  Ensure international affiliates' needs are met in terms of service & sales
  •  Ensure review of all deals and agreements with customers & affiliates
  •  Monitor & review all costing & pricing rules posted to BITS
  •  Monitor & review use of Sales Force (a CRM system) by all AEs
  •  Providing quality assurance with regard to revenue generation for each group
  • Help in the strategic planning for all BGS business lines, including preparation of budgets.
  • Coordinate the interaction between the Sales and CSR groups and other business units.
  • Ensure the highest standards of service and compliance are maintained and oversee training in those areas.
  • Design, implement, document, and manage tools to monitor workflows and business processes
  • Establish & implement sales, marketing and customer-service related procedures & processes in all relevant sites.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Sales and CSR staff in areas of performance management, training, reporting, quality control and career development
  • Ensure relevant staff is up to date on policies, procedures and developments
  • Cultivate relationships within the company with US Ground, BGS branches, and international affiliates
  • Responsible for day-to-day leadership of BGS US Sales/Account Executive team operating in all US markets and consisting of approximately eight (8) sales professionals and one (1) Sales Coordinator. Manage/develop all US sales strategies and oversee development of entire domestic shipping sales/portfolio.
  • Manage and oversee BGS US trade show sales activities and work closely with all support departments including but not limited to Operations, Import/Exports, Customer Service and Brokerage to ensure the on-time delivery of all BGS US commitments to its customers in the shipment of liability and the security of said liability.
  • Responsibility for implementing potential new products to help grow the business including establishing partnership required for successful launch and developing specific go-to market strategies.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to develop business unit affiliate relationships and to ensure that network wide commitments are met and that all sales agreements meet compliance and overall company strategy standards.
  • Ensure the Sales team and all related agreements comply with local, national and international legislation and procedures (Customs, VAT, Money laundering etc.).
  • ·Build, foster and manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors within the assigned footprint and apply strict control on direct and indirect cost related to the jobs executed.
  •  Monitor deals and agreements with customers, affiliates and subcontractors, ensuring adequate margins, compliance with company procedures and prioritize areas of growth and development.
  •  Communicate daily to the key customers on actual shipments with a pro-active approach and a solution driven attitude.
  •  Work closely and develop strong productive relationships with internal support departments including but not limited to Operations, Finance, Security and Show Division.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience managing sales professionals and developing highly effective teams successful in improving organizational profit year over year in a freight forwarding or air freight environment.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in meeting or exceeding business goals, including revenue targets, etc. in similar business or with similar business dynamics, i.e. managing and developing senior relationships, managing multiple functions, departments and opportunities.
  • Experience selling to small to mid-size retailers as well as C Suite and GM level executives in businesses that function on high volume sales and management of margin i.e. accessories, hard lines, components etc.
  • Experience not only hunting new business but in generating proposals and developing sales from the ground up.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel 50% of the time on a local, national and international level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in domestic/international sales of goods, freight forwarding, and logistic services.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, engineering or related discipline.
  • Operations experience in a logistics/freight forwarding company.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated success working with multiple internal and external clients.
  • Experience in airside/ shipping operations is a plus.
  • Excellent track-record in developing profitable and successful operations.
  • Experience with fast paced, competitive, blue chip/ corporate environment.

Professional Skills:

  • Possess a strong client facing presence, stellar lead generation skills, and the knowledge to contribute effectively to successful proposal creation.
  • Intermediate level experience with Excel and project planning software (Salesforce, MS Project, MS Office, and Visio). Basic database management with MS Access.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Skilled in working cross culturally, in developing relationships with stakeholders regionally and globally.
  • Excellent marketing, sales and customer service skills.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and well-motivated with a strong work ethic.
