Job Description

Position Overview: The Sr. Commercial Pricing Analyst is pivotal in optimizing and advancing our pricing strategies across North America. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in pricing analysis and expertise in CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) processes and tools. The Sr. Analyst will collaborate closely with commercialization teams, lead change management initiatives, and enhance pricing methodologies to drive business growth and profitability. The Successful candidate must display a clear understanding of pricing acumen and have a passion to win through supporting our commercial teams. The candidate must also display clear leadership abilities with the opportunity to take on an expanded role based on performance and abilities. Responsibilities (Percent of Time):

Deal Desk Management (60%):

  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to understand the unique requirements of each deal.
  • Develop and execute deal-specific pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Utilize decision support tools to provide real-time insights during deal evaluations.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive win-loss tracking system and conduct post-mortem analyses on deals to identify key success factors and areas for improvement.
  • Provide actionable insights from post-mortem reporting to guide future pricing strategies and deal-specific approaches.

Process Management & Decision Support (25%):

  • Support implementation and documentation of SOP's, make recommendations on analysis profiles, and pricing tools
  • Prepare and present comprehensive pricing analysis and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track pricing performance and effectiveness.
  • Conduct post-mortem analyses on pricing decisions to identify success factors and areas for improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior pricing analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Strategic Pricing Management (15%):

  • Lead efforts to optimize CPQ processes and tools, ensuring they meet business needs and drive efficiency.
  • Develop, refine, and implement pricing models and strategies to maximize profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor pricing, and customer data to support strategic pricing decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with commercialization teams to align on pricing strategies and support new product and service launches.
  • Implement change management strategies to support the adoption of new CPQ methodologies and tools across the organization.
  • Train and support commercialization teams on best practices and effective use of CPQ tools.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in pricing analysis, commercial strategy, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in CPQ processes and tools, with demonstrated experience in change management and process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at various organizational levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with pricing software and ERP systems is a plus.
