Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our North American team in the armored car transport industry. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in drafting, negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts, ensuring legal compliance, and strategizing efficient solutions to move from bids to successful deals. Your expertise will be essential in handling heavy sales volumes and addressing the unique challenges posed by our variable product offerings. You will also be expected to handle external customer commercial claims/disputes. This position is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the NORTAM legal team and other business leaders to ensure timely and accurate contract preparation, proper documentation, and problem resolution
- Draft, review, monitor and coordinate various commercial contract negotiations, such as non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), Brink's service agreements, real estate, procurement agreements, government contracts and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Work closely with other members of the NORTAM legal team and leaders to review contracts and expedite the contracting process
- Assist in contract generation and update the contract database to ensure availability of accurate data and files
- Regularly interact with the business teams, affiliates and divisions), providing legal contracts and guidance on contract lifecycle management
- Identify incorrect, inconsistent, and incomplete data entries in the designated contract management system (and on assigned requests) on a continuous basis
- Communicate with the legal and business teams related to necessary information and proper documentation regarding contracts on a regular basis.
- Collect, organize, update and analyze information or data needed for investigation or discovery in claims disputes and matters as directed by legal staff and/or outside counsel
- Support legal staff with investigation/handling of claims and other pre-litigation type matters (including document review, phone interviews, contact with investigators and outside counsel and investigation of claims)
- Support coordination between legal staff and internal customers, including coordinating between internal customer and attorney to gather required information and documents
- Maintain and organize legal data and information in applicable company tracking tool, such as Onit
- Research and gather documents to respond to business records subpoenas and commercial dispute notices and prepare responses to same
- Draft and distribute legal hold notices and assist in the collection and preservation of relevant documents in anticipation of future litigation
- Assist in preparation of presentations and reports to inform internal customers and stakeholders as to the status of claims and disputes managed by the legal department
- Identify areas for potential operational and service improvements to reduce future claims and disputes

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years as a paralegal or other experience in a similar role
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience responding to document subpoenas, internal document gathering, and external document production
- Ability to facilitate process improvement efforts
- Strong understanding of and experience in high volume sales environments and its unique challenges. Experience in the armored car transport industry a plus, but not required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments
- Business acumen to align legal strategies with corporate goals
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in project management with a focus on developing solution driven plans to achieve goals, implement business requirements analysis and testing processes and identify timeline constraints and risks
- Demonstrated skills in organization, problem identification and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
