- All candidates will need to complete a virtual interview for this role, and offers will be made based on that interview.
- We have a multidisciplinary unit. Critical care experience is a must.
- Floating to PCU is mandatory and the nurse must be willing to float there when needed.
- Must be float to Med Surg units as needed. Will be required to take up to 4-5 patients when floated.
- Unit: 2S ICU
- Number of Beds: 32
- Nurse Patient Ratio: typically 1:2, can be 1:1 or 1:3 as well
- Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatric
- Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: Respiratory distress/failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, sepsis, ARF, strokes (hemorrhagic and embolic), OHS, TAVR's, vasc surgs, thoracotomies, carotids.
- Special procedures done on the unit: Many procedures are done at the bedside. Bronchs, trachs, central line insertions, intubations, arterial line and swan ganz line placement, chest tube insertions.
- Common Equipment: Alaris pumps, Prisma flex, Arctic Sun, IABP, Impella, SCD's, Phillips Monitors, Belmont rapid infusor, ceiling lifts, bard and CADD pumps, bladder scanners.
- Common Medications: Vasopressors, sedative and anxiolytics. Paralytics, cardiac dysrhythmic meds.
- Vasoactive Drip Titration is Required - Levophed, epinephrine, vasopressin, nicardipine, cleviprex.
- Job Requirements
- Critical care experience is a must.
- Line Management Skills:
- Required: IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access/Care, Dialysis Fistula Care/Management, A-Line Management, CVP.
- Preferred: PA Line Management, IABP.
- Cardiac Skills:
- Required: Sheath Removal, Cardioversion/Defibrillation.
- Preferred: Obtain 12 Lead EKG, Epicardial Pacer Management.
- Airway Skills:
- Required: Procedural Sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, Ventilators, High Freq Vents/Oscillators, Nitric Oxide, Trach Care.
- Critical Care Skills:
- Preferred: EVD Management, ICP Monitoring, Impella/LVAD, Dialysis (obtain details peritoneal/CRRT/CVVHD), Rapid Infuser.
- Ortho/MS/Onc Skills:
- Required: Feeding Tubes, Wound Vac.
- Preferred: Epidural/PCA Pumps.
- Behavioral Health Preferred: Experience with Chemical Dependency.
