Description

The Assistant Regulatory Analyst supports Bob's compliance with product safety, social responsibility and sustainability laws and regulations.  Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, they support the day-to-day administration of Compliance Department programs, including third-party product testing, factory social compliance auditing and due diligence of vendor and factory partners.  Applying analytical and data management skills, the Assistant Regulatory Analyst evaluates Bob's assortment of products and their manufacturers and, under supervision, provides direction for complying with company policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support administration of Compliance Department's product safety, vendor management and social compliance programs, including outreach to suppliers.
  • Under supervision, administer Compliance Department data collection and data management processes, developing and delivering necessary reporting. 
  • Independently maintain, organize, validate and add new records to Compliance Department data.
  • Build and maintain a working knowledge of regulations, laws and industry standards that apply to company products.
  • Support Compliance Department resolve questions about product safety laws and regulations. 
  • Support the Company's third-party testing program and third-party factory social audit program.
  • Support continuous surveillance of the product safety, sustainability and social responsibility regulatory environments.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Operations, etc.) to ensure regulatory requirements and company policies are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Analytical problem solving.  The ability to: 1) analyze business data, business conditions and regulatory requirements, 2) clearly assess and articulate the current condition; and 3) develop options for the business to proceed.
  • Experience with or interest in product safety, social responsibility, and sustainability.
  • Ability to support a dynamic, fast passed retail business. Strong sense of urgency, flexibility and ability to work in a priority changing environment.
  • Self-directed individual who can work independently and yet collaborate with team members cross-functionally, as necessary. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects successfully, often with competing deadlines.  Confidence to function as part of a broader team that sometimes may have differing opinions and perspectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency analyzing and reporting data in Microsoft Excel.  Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, math or legal discipline.
  • One to three years related work experience in regulatory compliance, product safety, product development or related technical field (a STEM undergraduate degree and/or related internship may be considered in lieu of one year of experience).

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: minimum of two days in Company office, with availability to work remotely when not required in office.
  • Collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams
  • Occasional domestic travel, including to the Company distribution center to examine products
  • Office work: sitting and standing
  • Field visits: walking and examining products (manipulating products to view all sides and how they operate)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in the product compliance industry.
  • Experience in regulatory, compliance, product development, scientific or legal discipline.
  • Consumer product industry experience.
  • Experience with PowerBI, SharePoint, supply chain applications or SAP. 

Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:

$58,080.00 - $72,600.00
