The BMC Digital Business Solution Architect performs a lead role in assessing and analyzing capabilities, business and technical requirements, and Customer business drivers. The Solution Architect develops, as necessary, solution architecture and program definitions. In addition, the Solution Architect determines Customer environmental and personnel suitability, readiness to proceed, and provides best practice recommendations.
As a Subject Matter Expert, the Architect's guidance may cover implementation approaches, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure Customer success. This role serves as a senior coach, mentor, and technical leader for members of the project team and Consultants
Key Accountabilities
- Provides thought leadership and actionable guidance to during the sales process to setup a successful customer conversion and value realization roadmap.
- Shares knowledge and experience with peers by contributing best practice templates and examples for the following delivery artifacts:
- Conversion Methodology Presentation
- Conversion Agendas
- Conversion Analysis templates
The Architect's primary responsibilities for the role are:
- Lead and participate in teams with BMC, partner, and customer resources to deliver outcomes and generate additional business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with conversion code programmers through weekly status calls.
- Plan communication and collaboration strategies among the Customer Team, Account Team, Pre-Sales, Services Sales, Internal Team, and PMO.
- Lead conversion scoping meetings, preparing materials, and collaborating with key stakeholders for review of conversion analysis.
- Conduct complex project analysis, ensuring customer readiness and compliance with delivery deadlines, environments, and implementation plans.
- Provide Control-M Solution design assistance
- Facilitate process improvements and capability enablement
- Aid with Install, Configuration, Migration, and Implementation activities of Control-M z/OS Software changes, adhering to customer software delivery life cycle, all change controls, and blackout periods

- Contributes to Customer ready design documentation to support all Functional requirements, Technical Solution Design, Test Strategy, and Deployment Plans
Qualifications /Experience/Certifications:
- Subject Matter Expert in Converting To/From Output Manager Products (Control-M Output Manager, CA View/Deliver, CA Dispatch), JCL Verify Products, and Tape products (e.g., CA1, TLMS, Control-M Tape), Scheduling products (e.g. CA7, CA ESP, Automic, Autosys, TWS).
- Knowledge of network communications, Control-M Security setup (ACF2/RACF/Top Secret), and Midrange Systems.
- Knowledge in programming/scripting (JCL, JAVA, PL/I, REXX, Assembler) and various operating systems (Mainframe, Linux, Unix, Windows).
- Strong experience with z/OS operating system, program product installation, system configurations, upgrades, and troubleshooting for Control-M products.
- Architectural skills in SYSPLEX layout, system naming conventions, and software distribution, with strong consultative skills in customer-facing roles.
- Proven self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, mentor colleagues, and build relationships across Sales, Support, Application Teams, and Engineering
- Experience working in Services or projects, preferably Customer facing in a professional consultative capacity
Qualifications/Experience/Certifications (Desirable)
Have worked with or basic understanding DevOps processes/tools such as:
- SaaS experience
- Knowledge of BMC Workload Automation solutions
- Control-M product certification
- ITIL v3 Foundation

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,400 - $209,000
