Your Role: As the Deli/Produce Department Supervisor you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the deli department including managing staff, ordering inventory, and ensuring superior customer service. The Deli/Produce Department Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations are adhered to.
JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting Deli and Produce department operations in the market stores to drive sales, profitability, and the overall customer experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years of prior foodservice experience with 3 years in a leadership role required in a grocery environment.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to grocery deli operations.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, regulations, and compliance are required.
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization from store employees to senior leadership.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily and weekly tasks.
- Coach our store teams to generate food sales, consistently providing a quality product while providing outstanding customer service.
- Computer literacy is necessary, Microsoft suite of software as well as working knowledge of BCOC support systems to include, but not limited to: Kronos and ICIMS.
- Experience creating and analyzing financial reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to create collaborative and inclusive work environments.
- Must be serve safe certified or able to acquire and maintain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and overseeing all training specific to Deli and Produce operations in the Markets.
- Work with Market Leadership to align on all menu offerings.
- Developing, implementing and updating recipe guides.
- Provide sales and cost analysis as needed.
- Ensure stores are writing effective orders to support product availability while minimizing waste.
- Work with Market leadership to determine cost and labor budgets.
- Support recruiting and hiring efforts for deli/produce leadership positions inside the Market stores.
Other requirements:
- Standing, walking, driving, bending, climbing a ladder and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
- A company vehicle will be provided, and you will need a valid driver's license.
- Travel is required for this position, which at times could include overnights.
