Position Summary
Part-time instructors are responsible for course delivery, in person or in a remote learning environment for courses offered in Community Education. In addition to delivering course content, instructors are expected to follow-through on administrative tasks such as submitting course completion rosters, verifying student completion competencies as outlined in the course outcomes.
Pay, Benefits & Work ScheduleInstructors are typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
Pay rate is $42.77 per hour.

In addition to teaching, faculty maintains office hours and may participate in department and college activities. This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.

About the DepartmentThe Community Education unit of Bellevue College is a place for students to explore hobbies and interests. With an array of courses in world languages, retiree programs and personal enrichment, Bellevue College Community Education is a premier option for residents of the Puget Sound.
Essential Functions- Teach non-credit continuing education courses as identified by the program, course schedule, and enrollment demand.
- Support students in achieving course outcomes through utilization of teaching techniques effective with non-traditional students, including adult learners.
- Prepare and implement lessons to achieve assigned course learning outcomes
- Available to teach online and in person at Bellevue College.
- Demonstrated knowledge of proposed instructional content.
- Demonstrated experience with oral presentations.
- Written communication skills that demonstrate correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Articulated ability to work in a team environment with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- Prior instructional experience.
- Degree or experience in proposed instructional content.
- Experience using a variety of teaching techniques that engage students and emphasize interaction.
- Willingness to teach in both online and in-person teaching environments.
