Position Summary  

The Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (ODEI) is seeking a student to provide marketing & web design, operations, and administrative support for Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI's) restorative programs.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule  

Pay rate: $18.00/hour - $21.43/hour

The successful candidate is expected to work 10 hours per week. This position is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis.

The temporary hourly employment is limited to the earlier of 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months beginning from the original date of hire. Per WAC 357-04-045, following 1,050 hours or 12 consecutive months, an individual is not eligible for re-employment at Bellevue College in another temporary part-time hourly position. Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.  

This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month. Eligible positions are eligible for certain benefits.

About the Department  

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) primary function at Bellevue College is a cultural commitment to inclusion. We understand the root causes of inequity and disrupt behaviors that sustain systems of power through continuous learning and collaborative practices. We are responsible for compliance with policies covering discrimination, harassment, equal opportunity, and prevention.

Essential Functions  

Marketing & web design support

  • Create Canva flyers to promote restorative offerings.
  • Design and/or update restorative infographics/resources.
  • Update restorative webpage quarterly and as needed.
  • Create Power Point (PPT) templates for restorative workshops and trainings.
  • Distribute restorative resources at various front desk offices.
  • Manage the printing process of restorative calendar of events and other restorative resources.

Communications 

  • Monitor the general restorative practices email account.
  • Meet weekly with supervisor.
  • Coordinate scheduling with campus partners to determine meeting times for projects.
  • Collaborate with Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) staff, campus partners, and restorative facilitators as needed.
  • Send email outreach through general restorative account.
  • Create/compile program descriptions to promote restorative events.

Administrative Support

  • Manage inventory of supplies needed for restorative programs.
  • Order food for restorative events, as needed.
  • Set up virtual meeting spaces/platforms for programs.
  • Manage sign-in/log-in processes for events.
  • Track restorative program attendance and logistics in weekly reports.
  • Organize supplies for program set up, clean up, etc.  
  • Contribute ideas, themes, and needs for programs.
  • Support Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  
  • Knowledgeable of multi-layered aspects of identity, including ability, race, religious belief and practice, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, racial identity and ethnicity.
  • Works well with other students, staff, and faculty on collaborative projects.
  • Ability to provide program recommendations based on campus needs.
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to inclusive language.
  • Availability for in-person and virtual support during programs.
  • Experience with graphics, marketing, and web design.
  • Experience with platforms like: Qualtrics, PPT (Power Point), Canva, MS Excel, Zoom, and MS Teams preferred.
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Familiarity with restorative practices
