Payroll Administrator / Human Resources Assistant

Bassett Furniture is looking for a payroll administrator / human resources assistant to support the human resources department and to administer weekly payrolls for approximately 500 hourly associates at our Upholstery Division.  Based in Newton, NC, this position requires someone who is adept at managing multiple projects and accustomed to handling confidential information. This position will be responsible for weekly payrolls, timekeeping and other administrative duties in the human resources department.

Responsibilities Include:

·         Preparing weekly payrolls for processing by an outside provider, Dayforce, including:

·         Entering all associate data changes and new hire information

·         Checking and correcting timeclock punches

·         Inputting incentive-based pay information

·         Checking daily attendance in accordance with the attendance policy;

·         Maintaining personnel files for all employees;

·         Working closely with the benefits director to ensure accurate benefit deductions are taken and properly remitted;

·         Ensuring that new associate on-boarding information is completed timely and accurately;

·         Assisting the Human Resources Director with leave of absence administration.

·         Administering other human resources related functions as needed.

Requirements

·         Minimum 2 years' administrative experience, preferably in payroll and/or human resources;

·         Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines;

·         Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite; Dayforce (formerly Ceridian) experience a plus;

·         Accustomed to handling confidential information.
