This is an excellent opportunity for an Academic Pediatric Psychologist to practice in a pediatric oncology clinical setting with Banner - University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Our dynamic, multi-disciplined, and experienced team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care for this vulnerable population.
Position Description
The preferred candidate will join a growing, collegial community of psychologists and physicians. The psychologist will deliver comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions; contribute to care coordination across disciplines; and provide education and psychological support to patients, their parent(s), and loved ones across the continuum of cancer care. The psychologist will also have access to weekly case consultations and opportunities to participate in teaching psychology externs, interns, and postdocs.
Position Requirements
- PhD or PsyD, and a completed internship from an American Psychological Association-accredited program
- A desire to work with children living with cancer and their families
- Dedicated to excellent communication and collaboration with multi-specialty teams
- Comfort with play therapy
- Desire to engage and practice in academic medicine
- Monday-Friday
- No call
- Schedule may vary dependent on patient volume
- Flexibility for telehealth visits
- Experience preferred, but highly qualified new graduates will be considered
