This will be a remote role based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA.
Salary Range: $118,796 - $163,344 (DOE)
Summary and Qualifications:
Link the business strategy to a set of artifacts defining logical and physical architectures, roadmaps, and maturity models, while providing guidance and governance (application, data, network, integration, infrastructure, security, or business process) to IT teams and business stakeholders.
Oversee and advise on finance system architectures within the enterprise architecture team and works with various stakeholders, teams, subject matter resources, and peer enterprise architects to ensure all related technology aligns with expectations.
In collaboration with others build a holistic view of the practice strategy, processes, information, and how information technology assets are being leveraged to drive and grow the business, ensuring that the business and IT are aligned.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- Provide top level technical leadership to Banfield IT teams and strategic partners for financial systems.
- Partner with members of the Enterprise Architecture team to govern the Banfield technology landscape, identifying areas for improvements and recommend viable solutions.
- Define technical strategy and document current and future state for financial systems while maintaining a holistic view and perspective for the entire technical landscape.
- In partnership with peer enterprise architects, deliver sustainable architectures that support the most efficient and secure IT environments to meet the needs of the Practice as well as the potential to support businesses across Mars Veterinary Health (MVH).
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver scalable and adaptable enterprise architectures to support business growth (i.e., loosely coupled, elastically scalable, low latency, highly cohesive, internationalized, cloud-native micro-service architecture).
- Promote creative, innovative, and engaging work environment, provide technical guidance, and mentoring as needed to technical leads across the Practice.
- Stay current with the industry best practices and hands on by implementing mission critical capabilities, proof of concepts and minimum viable products.
- Ensure solutions are regulatory compliant, with a focus on encryption, tokenization, and fraud prevention.
- Provide leadership, oversight to Payment & Banking teams.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Special Working Conditions:
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
- Environment where pets are present.
Experience, Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ten years of experience with Enterprise Architecture, IT systems or software development are required.
- Five or more years of years of hands-on experience with payment platforms or financial systems, preferably custom payment, are required.
- Five or more years of experience with PCI-DSS compliance, tokenization, and encryption technologies are required.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture, identifying strategies, roadmaps, architecture/design and related artifacts is required.
