Description

Will be responsible for overseeing U.S. and Canadian daily operations of department including relationships with carriers and third party providers, internal and external reporting, cost control and execution of logistics strategy. Collaborating with the field on creating and driving continuous improvement projects, shipping systems development, training and integration.

· Manage dedicated carrier relationship and oversee daily operations of the network including service tracking/reporting, service issues and opportunities to add vendor pick-ups and stops.

· Collaborate with third party logistics providers to optimize service offerings and identify cost savings opportunities.

· Maintain relationship with third party claims administrator. Develop and maintain metrics/reporting to track administrator's performance and identify shipper and carrier trends.

· Develop and monitor reporting and exception reporting necessary to improve overall performance.

· Measure and manage supplier conformance to Applied shipping instructions. Collaborate with suppliers and product management on improving conformance.

· Ensure department intranet and SharePoint sites is maintained/updated with the current contact information, reports, metrics, routing and carrier information.

· Implement Continuous Improvement projects directed toward reducing costs, improving cycle time, increasing gross profit, improving freight recovery, and increasing customer satisfaction.

· Collaborate with field management to design, conduct training and implement processes to optimize distribution of product.

· Ensure freight recovery policies are being implemented and adhered to. Develop and distribute metrics/reporting in conjunction with field management.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics

· Must have 2 years of logistics and/or supply chain experience

· Persuasive communicator / strong facilitator / structured and logical thinker

· Excellent computer skills: Excel, Power Point, Access, SharePoint, etc.

· SAP experience preferred
