Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of IIoT & Vibration Specialist. This role can be fully remote, hybrid or based in office. Home location is flexible to any metropolitan area Applied operates in. 

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Industry 4.0 Architect, the IIoT & Vibration Specialist is responsible for supporting the complete sales cycle of condition monitoring products and services. This position contributes to the business by supporting IIoT business development, system implementation, and aftercare services. The role aims to predict asset failures, drive actions for improvement, and prevent unplanned downtime. 

Accountabilities:  

  • Conduct IIoT customer presentations in person & remotely. 

  • Produce & present IIoT technical proposals. 

  • Lead sensor installations 

  • Perform data reviews as a Category II Vibration Analyst, generating reports, insights, and troubleshooting. 

  • Lead monthly touchpoints with customers, reviewing data, and driving actions for improvement. 

  • Predict potential failures and triage maintenance activities, capturing events in the platform. 

  • Collaborate with vendors, provide customer presentations, and build trust through exceptional service. 

  • Solve customer problems, develop insights to save assets, and prevent unplanned downtime. 

  • Maintain close engagement with customers throughout the lifecycle of their assets. 

  • Play a core role in asset management, overseeing day-to-day asset performance. 

  • Proactively identify and address issues, advising the customer(s) to prevent failures. 

  • Notify customers of asset end-of-life, coordinate with shop & distribution channels, and engage vendors when necessary. 

  • Set-up & Maintenance of customer data in asset management software platforms. 

  • Generate & report-out customers asset health reports. 

  • Critical for maintaining the organization's credibility in vibration analysis. 

Requirements and competencies: 

  • Current Vibration Analyst Certification Category II minimum is a must 

  • Bilingual: French and English (professional proficiency in both written and verbal) would be a huge asset 

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust. 

  • Comfort conducting customer presentations with MS Power Point & MS Teams. 

  • Knowledge of rotating assets, preferably in heavy industries such as oil and gas, mining, forestry, aggregates, and agriculture. 

  • Previous experience in condition monitoring, analysis, and reporting is an asset. 

  • Mechanical or Engineering Technology background is preferred. 

  • Experience in industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.
