Job SummaryAnord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Supplier Development Engineer to support our EMEA Supply Chain team, therefore this role can be located in Blackburn, Kendal or Dundalk.
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager, you will provide cross functional support to select, approve and develop suppliers to meet customer and business needs.
This opportunity would suit somebody from an engineering or production background who is looking to launch a career within Supply Chain.
What a typical day looks like:
Select suitable suppliers with jointed effort of sourcing on aspects of quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, society regulation, etc. against customer requirements
Implement the new supplier qualification through the process of capability matching, supplier risk assessment, supplier self-assessment, onsite qualification audit, qualification database management
Understand customer drawing, specification to feedback value-added engineering proposal to customer and supplier for optimization of supplier manufacturing process or products
Collaborate with suppliers to assess capabilities and improve processes/products
Track the new qualified parts quality performance to ensure they meet the customer quality requirements in pilot run phase
Analyse supplier data and performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Be technically minded ideally with a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar
Ideally have proven experience in supplier development or quality engineering – however, training will be provided
Strong technical background having worked in an engineering or production role
Experience in working within a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing company
Ability to read technical drawings
Good technical capabilities, investigative abilities and initiative
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
