Job SummaryAnord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Buyer located in Dundalk.
Reporting to the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Buyer will be tasked with coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, components and equipment, whilst also managing a Junior Buyer offering guidance and mentorship where possible.
What a typical day looks like:
Maintaining relations with the suppliers, obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule
Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts according to the requirements of the production
Checking the purchase orders and modifying them according to the changes in the production plan with the help of the Shortage List and the Open Purchase Order List
Regular, weekly check of the stocks, avoiding overstock
Minimizing the risk of obsolescence with the help of the weekly check of the obsolete report
Correspondence with the freight forwarders, warehouses, and in case organizing the transportation
Checking the inventory of critical materials (personally if needed) according to the Shortage List and assuring all active components according to production needs, in time, for the accord price in the request
Reviews requisitions and MRP output and orders, reschedules and cancels material based on requisitions and MRP output
Maintains procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery and inventories
Manages supplier to price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a minimum of 12 months of procurement experience
Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, as well as ten-key, spreadsheet (PC) and ERP software
Ability to read, research and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Experience in writing reports, business correspondence and procedures and to effectively present information and acknowledges to questions from groups.
Experience in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense comprehension to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
