MED SURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse: utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan,implement and evaluate patient care

+ Is aware of physiologic and psychosocial changes in thepatient's condition

+ Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information fromhealth care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses

+ Documents the patient's plan of care using identifiednursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursinginterventions

+ Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient carerequirements

+ Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard

+ Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment

+ Documents patient's response to nursing and otherinterventions

+ Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meetpatient care needs of and assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities

+ Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment - Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

+ Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License in statepracticing

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

+ Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

+ Computer proficiency required

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
