THE ROLE:
As a member of the Computing & Graphics (CG) SoC Architecture team, this SoC Product Architect will define, develop, and design silicon for PC client, graphics, and custom programs. In this role, you will work with the lead SoC architect to define customer-specific architectures and contribute to product specifications, micro-architecture specifications, performance, and power trade-offs. The role will work from early concept development through the development phases to final production.
THE PERSON:
In this role, you will collaborate with a network of expert architects and designers around the world where collaboration and communication skills are critical to the success of this role, and excellent organization skills are essential. You will approach sophisticated problems with a firm methodology and problem-solving technique and conduct experiments and analysis to formulate recommendations and next steps for other colleagues working with SOC and IP design teams located in across multiple time zones and geographies. You will formally present your findings to co-workers, teams, and customer engineering teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the SOC architecture and be a primary architecture representative working with IP/SoC architecture, IP/SoC design, performance, post-silicon, and platform teams to drive technical specifications
- Drive the clocking, floorplan, physical design and power architecture based on market segment and/or customer-specific requirements
- Work with packaging team to deliver signal lists and system power delivery
- Work closely with Design teams for IP Integration guidance, Area and Floorplan refinement, Verification Test plan reviews, Timing targets, Emulation plans, Pre-Si bug resolution and Performance/Power Verification sign offs
- Work closely with the Computing & Graphics architects and design team to understand the requirements across the product lineup with the goal of aligning across the requirement level as well as maximum usage at the micro-architecture level
- Lead process improvement initiatives and measurements to improve quality and bottom-line profitability
