THE ROLE: 

We are in search of an exceptional Senior Server Platform Hardware Application Engineer with an advanced mastery of x86 architecture and a comprehensive background in related technological domains. This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can forge robust partnerships with ODM/OEM partners, spearhead collaborations with customers and cross-functional development teams, and elevate AMD's technological influence in the marketplace. The successful candidate will play a critical role in architecting the future of AMD technologies, enhancing our ecosystem partnerships, and accelerating our path to market leadership. Expertise in x86 architecture, a visionary approach to technology application, and the ability to anticipate and shape future tech trends are paramount.

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate is a distinguished and forward-thinking professional with a proven track record of excellence in highly dynamic and complex environments. This role requires:

• A minimum of 15 years in a leadership role within hardware development, demonstrating a strategic approach to innovation and problem-solving in high-stakes situations.
• Advanced proficiency in PCBA design, EMI, Signal Integrity analysis, performance tuning, system architecture, and a deep understanding of PC/Server architecture, x86 processors, DDR, PCIe, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, power management, and system management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, inspire innovation, and drive projects to completion with a clear focus on elevating business outcomes.
• Exceptional analytical skills to navigate complex customer scenarios, offering strategic solutions to challenging problems.
• Exemplary communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership, external partners, and customers to drive consensus and forward-looking strategies.
• Fluent in English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the strategic deployment of AMD server platforms, providing ODM/OEM partners with unparalleled technical guidance, resources, and support to ensure a competitive edge in the market.
• Oversee complex platform reviews, bring-up sessions, and debugging activities, applying advanced problem-solving skills to offer strategic solutions to technical challenges.
• Design and deliver advanced technical training programs to elevate the design capabilities of our customers and partners.
• Conduct high-level technical discussions and architecture evaluations, driving strategic discussions with key stakeholders to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Champion innovative and analytical approaches to technical challenges, ensuring project milestones are met with optimal solutions.
• Provide strategic on-site support to key partners, streamlining issue resolution processes and ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• At least 15 years of experience in a leadership capacity within hardware development, with a portfolio that demonstrates expertise in schematics, PCBA design, EMI and signal integrity analysis, performance optimization, and comprehensive system architecture.
• A profound understanding of PC/Server architecture, x86 processors, DDR, PCIe, SATA, USB, multiprocessor systems, power management, and system management.
• A distinguished history of working directly with global customers and partners, leading their transition from conceptualization to production.
• A leader who embodies a team-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to driving business success, fostering innovation, and achieving excellence.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's, or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
