Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with OEMs and ODMs to debug, root-cause and provide solution to their complex problems ranging from HW schematics, circuit design, PCB layout and design, signal integrity, power/performance measurements, EMI challenges, silicon/memory/IO issues, register settings etc.
- Drive multi-party and multi-site debugging and lead to solution working in background with internal experts.
- Efficiently use the lab-equipments and other advanced debugging techniques to provide quick turnaround time on the issue resolution.
- Guide customers make right decision upfront when designing their boards and layout.
- Shadow experts and maintain domain expertise by working closely with them on specific projects and participating in trainings, boot-camps etc.
- Bring-up the boards with low-level firmware and high-level software and resolve problems in hardware and low-level software.
- Conduct customer trainings on AMD tools.
- Author/translate applications notes and provide trainings to the local field engineers and customers/partners on the reference boards, AMD products (SoCs, SW) etc.
- Achieve maximum platform/silicon entitlement in customer products through power and performance optimization.
- Build strong engineering relationship with the strategic customers and partners.
Requirement
- Engineering degree in EE with 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Good depth of hands-on technical knowledge in the area of HW platform design and debug in the embedded domain.
- Extensive experience working in customer projects from development to market launch supporting them through various issues and complex hardware debugging.
- Well versed in the debugging embedded systems using JTAGs, logic analyzers, bus-snoopers, signal integrity testers etc.
- Familiarity with tools for schematics capture, PLD, PCB layout, signal integrity and simulation.
- Strong knowledge of ARM, X86, chipset architectures and memory layouts etc.
- Familiarity with communication buses like USB, SATA, PCIe, I2C etc. and knowledge of high-speed digital design.
- Familiarity with firmware, boot loaders, BIOS and Linux/Windows/Android OS will be an additional advantage.
- Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment and ability to travel as needed.
- Team player and a self-starter with a passion to work on increasingly complex engineering problems
