Senior Technical Product Manager (K8s and Virtualization) – Data Center GPU

 

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.

 

THE ROLE:

We're seeking an experienced Product Manager for our Datacenter Tools and GPU virtualization initiatives for AI applications. In this role, you'll drive the strategy and execution of products that enable efficient GPU utilization in AI/ML workloads while working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and customer success teams.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with business acumen to drive product development from conception to market success. Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership and strong analytical and quantitative skills with data-driven decision-making skills.  The candidate will have outstanding written and verbal communication abilities and partner across the organization internally and with customers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the product roadmap for our datacenter management tools and GPU virtualization solutions.
  • Gather and prioritize requirements from customers, engineering, and market research.
  • Work directly with engineering teams to define specifications and guide implementation.
  • Create comprehensive user documentation, technical guides, and blog content.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.
  • Drive product launches and coordinate with marketing on positioning.
  • Develop metrics to measure product success and implement continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Several years of product management experience in infrastructure software, cloud computing, or hardware.
  • Strong technical background with understanding of GPU architectures, virtualization technologies, and datacenter operations.
  • Excellent written communication skills with proven ability to create technical content.
  • Experience working with AI/ML platforms and understanding GPU acceleration needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation.
  • Data-driven approach to decision making with strong analytical skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with ROCm, CUDA or other GPU computing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of KVM, SR-IOV, and KubeVirt.
  • Previous experience with technical content creation (blogs, whitepapers).
  • Understanding of AI/ML workflows and infrastructure requirements.
  • Experience with public cloud GPU offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure).

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

LOCATION: 

  • Santa Clara, California preferred but open to other locations.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
