PROGRAM MANAGER 2 

 

THE ROLE: 

As a Post Silicon Validation Program Manager in Embedded Business Unit, you will be responsible for the planning, tracking and delivery of activities related to silicon bring up and post silicon validation and compliance for embedded products and system engineering programs supporting AMD IP. By managing both internal and external deliverables, you will work to ensure all embedded new products are delivered on time. This critical and highly visible role provides an excellent growth opportunity for high performing individuals looking to make a difference and deliver a stand-out experience to customers of AMD.

 

THE PERSON: 

A successful candidate will have the ability to establish and drive to goals including plan of record, timelines, budget, scope, performance and quality. A candidate must be self-motivated, must have a passion for creating plans and working with a diverse team of creative engineers and senior executives, must be able to deftly manage both internal and external deliverables and ensure all embedded products are delivered on time.

The candidate must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define, plan, and drive schedules for silicon bring up and post bring up Silicon enablement, validation (NOT Software validation), compliance and tools support activities
  • Work with IP teams, Architects, Development and Validation teams to effectively plan the Silicon enablement and validation activities.
  • Defining cross functional ownership and managing membership and effective performance of the core team
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders in program planning, development, and validation activities
  • Report regularly on status, decisions, issues, etc. to Engineering and Business leadership
  • Manage internal and external dependencies across all Programs
  • Create, drive and report on team execution metrics
  • Manage multiple external vendor engagements (like Memory, SPI, etc.)
  • Track and report team status vs objectives throughout the lifecycle of project
  • Track all the open issues and ensure those are closed at the planned milestones
  • Data generation/visualization - Generate & report hardware design and test progress vs targets
  • Support senior management to drive execution excellence, tracking & reporting of key metrics 
  •  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Technical background in semiconductor industry with 5 years hands on technical work, 5 years of program management experience and an overall industry experience of 12+ years
  • Experience leading Post Silicon Validation activities
  • End to End knowledge of Silicon bring up to Production phases
  • Proven experience in Silicon design/validation background (Post-Silicon experience desired)
  • Managed external vendor engagements
  • Handling of cross functional engagements
  • Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • Flexible working schedule to manage global (Asia and North America) program execution teams
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint & MS Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Engineering degree in Computer science / Electrical / Electronics & Communications with 12-15 years of industry experience
  • PMP certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
