JOB DETAILS:
- Location: Penang, Malaysia
- Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in a hybrid work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
- Duration: 3-6 months commitment starting Q1 2025
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as “customer inside” to test AMD's customer enabling collaterals and platform engineering ingredients on internal reference boards and customer platforms
- Work closely with internal teams across platform engineering, SW/FW, validation, power and performance, networking, and others to establish validation guidance for customers' platforms
- Utilize pre-production hardware such as CXL accelerators, new memory and storage devices, network adapters etc. to uncover system integration issues and solve them prior to OEM/MDC/ODM customers.
- Support customer debug in vertical industry solutions through a combination of remote access to solutions infrastructure with representative workloads and hosting in-lab and virtual customer sessions.
- Partner closely with firmware and internal engineering teams on Proof of Concept development and testing new, unique, difficult, and differentiator features with customer platforms.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of PC/server architecture and microprocessor cores.
- Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired.
- Debug skills at both SoC and system level.
- Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...).
- A passion for solving tough technical problems will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows) will be an added advantage.
- Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance.
- Forward thinker that drives improvement to development process, automation architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field.
