The Role:

Executing the product engineering solutions for a next-generation AMD Products. This position serves as team's Technical Leader and go-to specialist for solutions. This position requires engagement with Test, Design and Platform Engineering to drive attainment and optimization of yield and performance distributions, test costs and product quality.

The Person:

  • Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/ methods and leads development and implementation.
  • Influences technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.
  • Is a consultative leader with responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationship with other departments.
  • Strong people management, Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Has responsibility for projects or processes of significant technical importance and for results that cross engineering project areas.

  • Is required to deal with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project.
  • Has accountability for results for a whole product or large project, as well as for management of interdependencies with related areas.
  • May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and executing characterization and test plans and strategies on new silicon
  • Establish pre-silicon pattern requirements and driving Design Verification deliveries
  • Delivery of optimized test points and product definitions across PVT corners to meet business requirements.
  • Driving debug and closure of all issues that arise post-silicon (process, yield, device)
  • Driving yield and performance distribution improvements and optimizations across wafer sort, final test, and SLT

Strong data analysis using JMP, excel, related tools

  • Manage inventory and reclaim to improve product margin
  • Ensures the defined product meets customer requirements and serve as one of the technical collaborates with the design, platform validation and business teams.

Preferred Experience:

Shown semiconductor product development:

  • Yield Engineering
  • Product debug
  • Problem Solving
  • Data Analysis & Story Communication
  • Statistical methods and tools for data analysis.
  • ATE background
  • Pareto analysis experience to drive a debug process.
  • Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.
  • Linux or Unix Operating Systems
  • Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office) & Windows.
  •  Presenting to Director level management internally.
  • Running projects of 6-12 months duration.
  • Leading a 2-5 member project team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Semiconductor process, packaging and test technologies
  • Semiconductor fabrication process optimization (direct experience in defining and validating a semiconductor device's performance preferred)
  • Understanding of DFT features such as ATPG Scan, memory BIST, JTAG, and at speed testing
  • Understanding of semiconductor device physics and speed path analysis

Academic Credentials:

 BS or MS with directly related experience in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
